Carshalton Central ward by-election: Sutton Greens announce candidate

Sutton Green party have selected Ross Hemingway to stand as the Green party candidate in the upcoming Carshalton Central ward by-election.

The by-election on Thursday 28 July follows the resignation of a Lib Dem councillor.

Ross Hemingway lives in Carshalton and previously stood for as the candidate for Carshalton and Wallington constituency at the 2015 General Election.

He works for anti-poverty charity War on Want, before that the international development charity, Christian Aid.

Ross said: “It's time to shake up this arrogant and complacent Lib Dem run council. For thirty years they’ve ruled the roost, but this current crop of councillors have stopped listening and forgotten who put them there.

“It’s time to get serious about tackling Sutton’s shocking air pollution and shameful recycling record, protecting our green open spaces and working toward a cleaner, greener, healthier borough.”
